Alice Van Overstraeten
Alice has had a lifelong love of painting and has honed her skills around the world. She spent her childhood in Royal Oak, Michigan and later graduated from Albion College. After college Alice lived in Australia and Belgium where she continued to pursue her passion for art.
Medium choices for Alice’s art include watercolors, acrylics, water soluble oils, pastels and oils. Subject choices for her art are vast and tend to be very free and interpretive; yet she also excels at realism. Color is one of Alice’s artistic strengths and it abounds in all of her art
Alice has been juried into Scottsdale’s School of Art Show, Duos Symphony Gallery in Mesa, and ASU Gamage Theater among others.
Her art has been displayed in public and private buildings all around the USA and numerous foreign countries.
Currently, Alice is often found working in her studio in Sun Lakes, Arizona. She shares her love of art by teaching in various venues.
One place you can find her paintings proudly displayed is at the Gallery Art On Boston in Chandler Arizona which is also where “Butterfield” is displayed. “Butterfield” is a 7’2” fiberglass ostrich and is a beautifully unique piece.
Alice has memberships in Oakwood Artist League, Arizona Watercolor Association, Mesa Artist League, Arizona Pastel Artist Association, and Scottsdale Artist League.
